If you are not able to travel to the Salt Lake City Cemetery this Memorial Day due to coronavirus, travel restrictions, or for whatever reason, we may be able to help.

We are the Banz family and we have lived across the street from the cemetery for more than 20 years. We also have teenage children that are able to do some work this Memorial Day weekend. And, there is a Smith’s Food Store just down the street that currently has a lot of Mums and other flowers in stock.

Therefore, if you would like us to pick up some flowers and deliver them to a specific gravesite this Memorial Day weekend. (before end of day Monday), we will do it for the cost of the flowers from Smith’s + $14 delivery fee.

Here’s how to make it work….

  1. Email us as soon as possible to let us know you would like this service and provide your contact information. family@saltlakecitycemetery.org
  2. Let us know the name and location of your loved one in the cemetery. The more details the better (ex: plot location, directions, map, headstone description, etc.)
  3. Let us know your general flower budget and desired type and color of flowers. Mum’s are usually $8 to $11. As of today (May 19) they are on sale 3 for $12.
  4. We will pick up the flowers that are close to what you desire at Smith’s, but there is no guarantee that Smith’s will have exactly what you want — our family will do their best to find something that works.
  5. We will deliver the flowers on Memorial Day weekend and take a picture and send it to you. We can also send a photo of the receipt from Smith’s.
  6. You can send payment for the flowers and delivery via Venmo once we tell you the exact total. (ie. the cost of the flowers + $14). If you don’t have Venmo, we can work out some other payment method, including sending a check.
  7. As mentioned, we are a family and not a flower shop and will trust that we can both work together in good faith efforts to get you the flowers and receive reimbursement.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact: family@saltlakecitycemetery.org

Thanks,
The Banz Family (Russell & Tara, Austin, Hayden, Whitney and CC)
